Woodlawn Middle School and Twin Grove Middle School invites you to innovative Science Olympiad Invitational!!! The concept is a head-to-head, bracket, tournament style BUILDING EVENT ONLY invitational competition.

Teams go head-to-head and advance to the next round with new challenges until there is a event champion. If the Olympians advance to the next round, they would have the opportunity to make adjustments to accommodate for the new variables. The Science Olympiad rules would be followed in their essence. ​

The Olympians will benefit in that they would have to critically think, make adjustments and prepare them for upcoming regional, state and national competitions.

Costs:
$100 per Varsity team (which includes one entry per event)
$100 per JV team (which includes one entry per event)
limit 3 teams per school.
$10 per extra event entry (can be paid at the door)
Registration until 1/20/18

Each team will be expected to run/volunteer for an event. Guidelines for Builder Battle Tournament will be given.

Types of Events
Bracket Events -Single or Double elimination (dependent on the number of entries). Teams will go head-to-head with the winner advancing to the next round with new and/or different challenges until an event champion is awarded.

Team Group Events​- Each team will compete against all other teams.

Heats Events-The top performers from each "heat" advances to the next round until there is an event champion. Number of heats is dependent on the number of participants.

​Seeding is a random draw day of tournament.

If the Olympians advance to the next round, they would have the opportunity to make adjustments to accommodate for the new variables.

Hovercraft, Bracket Event, Each round variable would be different floor surfaces, Device only, no written test
Wright Stuff,* Bracket Event, each round would be a different size gym/area​
Towers,* Team Group Event, build in house, cure time, then testing
Mystery Architecture,* Bracket Event, Each round would be a new task or goal
Roller Coaster,* Bracket Event, Each round would be different target times according to regional, state, nationals criteria respectively
Battery Buggy,* Bracket Event, Each round would be different target lengths according to regional, state, nationals criteria respectively
Optics, *Heat Event, Each round would have different target points, ​Device only, no written test
Fast Facts, *Bracket Event
Write It Do It,* ​Heat Event, Complexity increases with each round
