Based on the 2017 member map released by soinc.org (which Unome found almost immediately, somehow), Maryland had the third largest percentage increase in teams of any state that hosts a state competition, and the largest of any state with over 100 teams! Glad to see growth happening in the state (and hope to see some more activity here as the season wears on)!

It appears that the results are behind a password wall. It's a shame; we should start getting to the point where public release of regional and state scores is expected. Some states do better at this than others, but making this standard practice would be nice. Hopefully they'll be made publicly available later.

Wow, I really didn't think Pilgrimage would be back in both divisions.

(anyone else here remember when Pilgrimage was doing really well at Nats?)

Edit: No way those are accurate, there are way too many good teams missing. Please check again...

AA scores (previous was A) Division B
1. North Bethseda
2. Urbana
3. Roberto Clement
4. Clarksville
5. Tilden
6. Hoover

For AA division C
1. Centennial
2. Richard Montgomery
3. Wooton
4. Walter Johnson
5. Montgomery Blair
6. Dulaney

So I'm pretty sure (I don't compete in MD idk) that scores from AA and A are compared to determine who gets to go to nationals.

From my understanding it's to allow weaker teams to medal more, however idk why they don't just make 1 league and give out more medals overall instead

I believe it is split up based on enrollment, but that could be completely off.

Did anyone here compete in National Cathedral's invitational this year? I'm captain of my team at my school and am considering registering for it next year but I would like to know a few things before I get my team to fundraise for it. Do you think it was worth attending? How long was the competition? (When did the last event end?) and when did awards start and end?
