Texas Scioly decides how many teams advance to state from a regional based on the number of teams that attended that regional, but this is not told to the regional itself. We know for sure the top 3 teams will advance to state from the Katy Regional, and based on the size of the tournament possibly 4-5 teams might advance. So to answer your question, state qualifiers are not announced at regionals because the regional is not 100% sure how many teams will be accepted.
Yeah with some teams getting wildcards through luck, state qualifiers aren't 100% certain unless you're first place.

Yeah I was just going off the fact that the UT Regional had around 12 teams compete and 3 qualify, so KRT should have at least 3 qualify seeing as there were around 20 teams.

I’m betting on 6 teams (at least from b) going to state. Currently there are 24 teams listed and 30 are at state. Also last year Katy had 4 go, but tarleton has 2 and it was cancelled this year and several of the teams went to Katy instead

Remember that 2 spots are saved for international teams.

Mmm doubt it, some other regionals might get their 3rd place teams a wildcard to states, 4-5 is more likely.

We were told all teams besides those at the katy regional were added.

This is from the state website
“30 schools per division will advance from regionals to State competition. Two (2) international slots will also be available on a non-competitive basis.”

The ALSO makes me think it’s 30 from Texas and 2 international

That's a possibility. TSO anyways should be updating and releasing team numbers soon since the last regional is over, so I guess that'll answer it.

I hope so, we really need to book a hotel and make arrangements.

I really wish they didn't have this on muster weekend when hotels are freaking impossible to get.

Since there are 9 spots left for division C, does that mean 9 schools will be added from the Katy regional? (Or 7? I'm not really sure how the 2 spots for international teams work)
