It may be easier for Division C teams to get their heads in the game and for them to have similar opportunities to Div B. I think the only real opening for Div C was at the SO Showcase at the Museum of Natural Sciences (some teams that are competing in Raleigh this weekend went there), and I don't know if teams are actually ranked or if any of those tests will ever see the light of day.
Teams aren't actually ranked there and the tests are really really easy. It's really more of a collection of Division B level (perhaps easier) practice tests than an invitational.

That's definitely disappointing :?: I guess we have to hold out for NRT and regionals.

Charlotte B and C are no surprise really. Based on the smaller margin of victory in C this year, Kell looks a bit stronger, or maybe North Mecklenburg is a bit weaker (I can hope, can't I?). In B, combined V/JV scores show Piedmont really separating from Robinson, although that's not surprising. And Duct Tape is the thorn in Piedmont's side, as usual.

Wilmington B, however, is a big surprise with St. Mary's narrowly edging WAAS in the separate scores but WAAS prevailing in the combined scoresheet (which is generally a better indicator; with more competition factored in it's more like states). Looks like St. Mary's benefitted from WAAS bombing Roller Coaster. It's still a pretty big upset I think.

Results!
Division B
1. Piedmont
2. Carnage

Division C
1. Enloe (86)
2. Raleigh Charter!!!!!! (222)

I’m so proud of my team. I’ll update more about that later. I’m also extremely impressed by Enloe. Normally our rivalry is pretty intense, but today Enloe beat everyone so badly that I can’t help but be in awe. We gave them a standing ovation after we heard their score (although in the post-awards frenzy I’m not sure if they noticed).

I’ll post more later.

So many surprises this year...Division B was especially the toss up. I did notice that a lot of the inability to qualify for Nationals came from bombing non-medaling (which was top 10) harder than those who qualified. In the end, consistency won out, as it should, though it provided some interesting twists and turns throughout the awards when just top placements were announced.

Congrats to all! :D
