Not really. It is my general rule of thumb to not judge teams too much by their worst invitational, and to not judge teams if they're traveling far for an invite that isn't Wright State. Piedmont was not far behind Gelinas and SSA, so I think it's worth consideration but not necessarily significant.CMS AC wrote:Piedmont lost to shady side AND gelinas at cornell. It was near the beginning of the season, but still. Is this significant?
i could be wrong lol

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
I thought River City would be placed higher than Archimedean, considering we won states and Archimedean isn't doing so well.

It's kind of odd that Archimedean was placed 8 places below us even though we won at states. Clearly they have more experience, but, 8 places?

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
Also, the difference between 157 and 164 points in a 42 team tournament is essentially negligible for predictive purposes. An argument could be made for Archimedean to be lower, but history tends to indicate that they'll be higher, and I would expect it to be at least 4 places.

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
I think the Florida predictions are a little far-fetched. (not you EastStroudsburg ) People are placing Archimedean in the top 25's and top 20's. Even though Archimedean lost states. Not by a lot of points. (only 5). But a lot of the 9th graders from last year are in Div C now. (also kinda why they won over Boca Raton) I believe, River City, making a comeback from 6th last year to 1st in states this year should be higher than Archimedean, here are my full predictions....
All of it is similar to Eaststroudsburg's one from 25-on
but I made some alterations

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
piedmont hasn't done well at invitationals but I have heard they rotate their anchor students to help build up younger competitors. also at NC has the 2nd most amount of science olympiad teams in the nation and the competition is harder so that's probably why their score is higher than usual.
