Re: Battery Buggy B
it generally will accelerate the entire time before it begins to decelerate...
maybe it hits top speed for a very short period of time

Re: Battery Buggy B
I feel like that's the general norm with cars, our previous car accelerated after start and stopped (and skidded) once brakes were applied, but now we have a new one, so I don't know. How fast did yours run?

Re: Battery Buggy B
Wondering what your Battery Buggy weights and speeds came out to. I have a wooden one that weighs 3 pounds, but it can travel the target distance in about 3 seconds. Powered by a 12V 2250 rpm Pololu 25D. The driving axle spins at 1125 rpm, and I am using 3 7/8 diameter Banebots wheels (T81).

3 seconds. But my wingnut seems to not be hitting the microswitch, so I have to get that fixed before testing.sciolyrules107 wrote:Just out of curiosity... how fast do your cars travel for a distance of 12 meters?
Normally, after the car starts does it remain at a constant speed or does it accelerate?

Re: Battery Buggy B
I know this was talked about earlier this season, but what are u guys using for bearings/bushings. I am currently using ball bearings, but some said that plastic bushings should work fine. Thoughts?

Re: Battery Buggy B
We use ball bearings in our car. Plastic Bushings will be but depending on the type, might not be as sturdy. Also, it's a pain to take your car apart just to replace the bearings/bushings unless you're building a new onecheese wrote:I know this was talked about earlier this season, but what are u guys using for bearings/bushings. Re: Battery Buggy B
Bushings work perfectly fine, and make life quite a bit easier and are more cost effective.
