Battery Buggy Fire???
My battery buggy has a motor that draws 60 amp stall current. I am using aluminum foil to keep my battery buggy working. Frequently, this foil catches on fire. There is no risk because nothing else on my buggy that's flammable. Would I be disqualified?

Also, why are you drawing 60 amps?antoine_ego wrote:Yes.35368 wrote:My battery buggy has a motor that draws 60 amp stall current. I am using aluminum foil to keep my battery buggy working. Re: Battery Buggy Fire???
Ok i had a pretty similar issue. Your motor is drawing too much current because you have too much load. You have to gear way lower than what you have rn. That should solve all issues (did for me)

Re: Battery Buggy Fire???
You don't understand. The no load current is 15a and the stall current is 60a so the usual current will always be very highshrewdPanther46 wrote:Ok i had a pretty similar issue. Re: Battery Buggy Fire???
I have never seen a 540 size motor with a 15 A free run current. What make and model are you using?
Rather than foil, try brass stock , 1/2" by may be 0.020. Cut off pieces to supplement the springs from one battery to the second battery.
It is available at most big box stores and some hobby shops.
