the closer one gives us more consistency issues than the farther one. The farther one is more an issue w/alignment (we dont use a rifle scope, we just line up some stuff)
Well there's a problem. If you want to expect consistency from your device, you yourself better be consistent to start with. You really need to use an aiming system of some sort

We do have one, and its generally within 1-2 cm left/right of the target point up to like 11.5 meters, but then things get worse from there

^ same. Weird thing happened today. Just doing practice tests and they all were variably off. Idk if it was a different floor or something but we haven't been this off in awhile. I guess going back to testing tomorrow.

We were forced to finish testing last saturday because we had to pack stuff in the van to travel :/
We had a really long 5 hour session (which was cut short by the security guard lol) and we noticed something really weird with our alignment.

So for like the first couple hours everything was normal as to our calculations. But by the time the 5th hour came around, the car was randomly going on a much straighter trajectory than it was earlier, and we had to slightly adjust our angling, which was surprising. Idk if there is any causal relationship between the two, but its certainly a bit odd.

It probably has to do with the alignment being slightly adjusted when testing that much, but it honestly could be a lot of things causing that.

I'm pretty inexperienced, so I would like to get an idea for the changes consistency wise from personal practice to competition day due to all the changes that inevitably take place from travel, etc.

A lot of people have/claim to have 4 ish second cars which are <1cm. I am curious to hear from some experienced ppl regarding the degree of variation at competition vs. personal practice. Idk if I made any sense at all, but if anyone understood me, please explain ;)

To be honest,
I think some scores are over estimated. A score of 5 should medal imo

IMO no. Last year, teams were getting scores of 5 without any bonus for scrambler. (scoring was distance + time). With the bonus this year, top teams i would expect to get negative teens. We are getting -5 on average with a slow car.
