As long as there is more than 20 cm clear between the balloon and the target. For example, we rolled up the balloon like party blower.

Anyone tried sealing the end of the party blower and call it a balloon?

What did you use to keep the balloon rolled up? Paperclip?

If you have a 1" diameter "animal" balloon, you can stick a rod a couple inches into the closed end of it and shrivel it all up like an accordian. It will stay like that until you apply pressure and then it will burst nicely open.

We tried first with Mylar balloon. Party Blower was cut and taped to the balloon. The party blower got coiled music wire to keep it curled back.

Then we realized we do not need it to curl back afterward, so we change the balloon to a goody bag and just roll it and tuck it under.

A latex balloon was used as a safety valve to release the extra CO2.

How did you use it as a safety valve?

We cut a hole on the top of the latex balloon and use it as a pipe to connect the bottle to the pipe taped to the goody bag.
When there are more CO2 than the goody bag can handle, the latex balloon will expand. If still more, CO2 + liquid will leak from the connection between latex balloon and the pipe. The connection is not clamped. 2L soda bottle is used to collect the leak.

It stopped leaking after we reduce the amount of vinegar. Only the latex balloon got expanded a little.

Wish I had a photo of it. If need, I can take one tonight.
