Is there any way to detect light without a sensor? I was discussing this earlier today with someone on our team doing Mission - neither of us could think of anything.PM2017 wrote:Is there any way to use the formation of precipitate to block light, without the use of a sensor?

Would a solar panel going into a voltmeter work?Unome wrote:Is there any way to detect light without a sensor? That's... a sensor, right?PM2017 wrote:Would a solar panel going into a voltmeter work?Unome wrote:Is there any way to detect light without a sensor? That.... would be correct... PM2017, I really don't know what gets into your head sometimes. (Great, now I've successfully referred to my username in the second person... Brilliant.)Unome wrote:That's... a sensor, right?PM2017 wrote:Would a solar panel going into a voltmeter work?Unome wrote: Is there any way to detect light without a sensor? More importantly, would a not gate be considered a sensor? I think I've just had a stroke of genius.

IMO a switch wouldn't be a sensor. Depends the kind of gate...PM2017 wrote:That.... would be correct... PM2017, I really don't know what gets into your head sometimes. What did you have in mind when you said depends on the gate?ScottMaurer19 wrote:That would be iffyPM2017 wrote:Something like this: http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/logic/logic_4.htmlScottMaurer19 wrote: IMO a switch wouldn't be a sensor. Depends the kind of gate...

I wasn't sure what you were referring to as a "gate"PM2017 wrote:What did you have in mind when you said depends on the gate?ScottMaurer19 wrote:That would be iffyPM2017 wrote:

Re: Chemical Clocks
I’m sorry, but please clarify this for me because I thought I saw this in the rules but now I can’t find it- are we required to have some type of timer? Or isn’t it just for bonus points? Will we be penalized in any way for not having a timer?
