Wow, they really changed the rules, didn't they? Guess I'll have a lot of new things to study (like what an op amp is)!

3.c.xiii. and 3.c.xiv. seem to directly contradict 3.d.'s prohibition on asking about semiconductors and nonlinear components. I assume 3.c. takes precedence over 3.d.

Yes, that's the only way that would make sense. 3.d. was the rule from previous years. I assume they just carried it over to this year without specifying that there were exceptions.

Opinions expressed on this site are not official; the only place for official rules changes and FAQs is soinc.org.

Is there a specific book on this? I was thinking of a physics textbook but I'm not sure.
For now, I'm just reading Wikipedia articles.

I would recommend the textbook I posted to start with actually. It's super helpful! (And someone, e.g. me, should probably get around to updating the wiki.)

Do we know what type of kit is required for Circuit lab event?is this kit include, resistors.,capacitors, wires, multimeters, breadboards etc?
Any more information on the stations will be useful to prepare?

You don't have to bring a kit, although I would suggest getting breadboards, multimeters, batteries, resistors, etc. so that you can practice using them. What the lab station actually is is pretty much up to the supervisor.

How about talking to your physics teacher?

If you don't know any physics teachers, then any old science teacher would do.

If none of your science teachers have any good information, then, well... I would research every item in 3.c.

Why do they have to be old?

I think he means old as in you have had them as a teacher in the past, not their age.
