Is using certain woods from websites that specialize in making guitars prohibited?

Re: Sounds of Music C
Rule 3a prohibits "parts of instruments". So you can't buy tuning pegs or a guitar neck. I'd think you also can't buy pre-shaped guitar body pieces. But I see no reason why you can't buy an expensive plank from a guitar wood store rather than a cheap plank from a lumber store.ScienceHamster wrote:Is using certain woods from websites that specialize in making guitars prohibited?

How are you guys preparing for the written test. Because most of the topics arnt covered in depth in a high school class, but the college books that i have found are probably more difficult than the actual test.

Re: Sounds of Music C
They're not likely to answer this as an FAQ because it is asking about a specific case rather than a general interpretation. In my opinion, wind chimes pretty clearly fall into the category of "toy or professional instruments," especially since bells are explicitly called out as not permitted.UTF-8 U+6211 U+662F wrote:I believe it would, but feel free to submit a rules clarification on soinc.orgAAH2020 wrote:No, what I mean was, if we used old wind chimes as materials for a glockenspiel, would that be considered using parts from a professional instrument?
