Besides, the "topic" takes away from the true essence of the event, which is not knowing what the disease will be and figuring it out.

I don't know, what do you guys think? I've been dying to hear what other people in DD think about this, being the only veteran in the event at my school. Should the rules revert to topic format or is this a change in the right direction?

I'm supportive of the changes, including the removal of topic, for the reasons you describe.

I would like topics if there was even one section in the rules that mentioned them and had provisions about what we should actually know about them. The only place in previous years where the topic was even mentioned was the short description of the event.

Does anybody at all know where I can find or what the "the 5 step Process for Surveillance " is?
I've searched it up a lot and can't find anything solid, nor 5 steps.
Here we go once again!

I'm not sure... the WHO seems to list three steps http://www.who.int/ncd_surveillance/en/ ... _dec03.pdf

The CDC website is good, and Wikipedia also has a lot of information.

This event is all about the work of the CDC, and the MMWR is a review of monthly CDC info

Does the CDC use TAP strategy for prevention? I searched it up in google, and there was a page in the cdc website that says that the cdc uses the TAP strategy.

You mean https://www.cdc.gov/hai/prevent/tap.html ?

It says on the website yes, so yes.
