Will water quality also include learning about freshwater life?

There are aquatic species listed in the rules.

Where do you access the rules?

Are the lists of animals to ID exhaustive?
That is, will ES's add in other macroflora and macrofauna from Class 1-5 and Nuisance?

Just saying, ES's bend the rules occasionally...

Like When...
In Thermodynamics States last year, the ES asked a question about supercooling heat engines which are clearly not on the rules manual.

No, no other flora or fauna will be tested, although you might want general knowledge on any key species for aquatic ecology.

(Although the rules for thermodynamics last year were pretty general and allowed any thermodynamic processes)

Is this year's Water Quality only on freshwater?

Yes, although you do have to build a salinity tester.

Why, if it's freshwater, why do I need to build a salinity tester? Is it to prove that the water is freshwater?

The ecology portion is on freshwater (but I believe the fauna are freshwater as well)

You didn't answer my question

I suppose testing the salinity of freshwater can be occasionally useful. In practice, freshwater will not always have no salt content (as far as I know).

According to the very reliable source called Google, freshwater has no salt, but also apparently has little concentrations of dissolved salt. I'm extremely confused now :?

It's all relative. Seawater has an average salinity of 35 parts per thousand. Freshwater is water with a salinity below 3000 to 500 parts per million, depending on who you talk to. So it's possible to have freshwater that's just10 times less salty than seawater.
