Quick Question: What do the rules consider to be a "Salinometer"?

Edit: If I were to show up with 3 objects (2 to determine salinity, and a graduated cylinder to test in), would I be ok? :?:

No, unless you connected them, by gluing them together or tying them together with string. One of last season's FAQs specifically clarified that salinometer pieces could not be apart. However, salinometers with multiple interconnected components were accepted at nationals 2019.

Even so, if you connected pieces with string, glue, or tape, then your supervisor still may not approve your device, because the salinometer is intended to "operate within" the beaker (rule 3.IV.b). You're removing solution and placing it in a graduated cylinder. It may still be okay though; I've heard of supervisors who allow teams to remove solution. Maybe you could contact the tournament director for clarification, or submit to the FAQ?

I read a field guide. It wasn't bad, but there are probably better out there.
I enjoy Dynamic Planet.

Is the wiki updated? Also, is it trustable? I know the wiki is pretty good for some events, but I don't know about water quality since this is my first year doing this event.
Thanks in advance!

The wiki is usually good for general info for most events, but it shouldn't be used as your only source from where to study from.
2020 Events: Astronomy, Ornithology, Water Quality, Protein Modeling
2019 Events: Fermi, Protein Modeling, Mission Possible
2018 Events: Dynamic Planet, Herpetology, Towers, Disease Detectives, Forensics, Parasitology
2017 Events: Ecology, Invasives, Hovercraft, Towers, Astronomy

Agree with Blank25. Regardless of how the wiki looks, you're always free to search for information from books, the Internet, and teachers at your school. To answer your original questions, the wiki isn't up to date, but what it has is reliable. For any wiki page, you can click on "View History" at the top right to see how recently the page has been updated.
