8 min timing

Post by cindor74 »

At states, it was unclear when timing started and stopped, so we only had time for 1 run. Does your 8 minute time start when you enter the impound zone? Basically, we walked in, then the judges asked all of these questions, which we answered while trying to deal with the buggy. We got it organized, sent it off, then had about 1 min left to try a second run, which we didn't get a chance to do. It felt a bit fishy. But, our run was good enough to get us to Nationals! Also, we think they kept the timer going while trying to get the cans in the right place, which they messed up on and we actually had to go and correct them about it. We figure at Nationals to just constantly ask for time left and ask if they are counting time.

From what I remember time usually starts when you've been cleared, questions, logs, etc, by the ES, they've explained everything they want to with regard to the track or competition, from which you are told to pick up your vehicle/boxes and that's when your time starts.

I thought you were supposed to set the cans yourself.
