Rule 5.b.ii
What does "nominal eye outside diameter" mean? Specifically the word "nominal." Not sure what it indicates in this context. Does it mean the eye bolt strictly has to have an OD of 1", or that it should be around 1"?

Nominal would mean approximately...a wood 2x4 has nominal dimensions.sciencecat42 wrote:What does "nominal eye outside diameter" mean? Specifically the word "nominal." In context, I'd say "nominal" means roughly "as labeled". For example, the 2x4 of wood mentioned above has true dimensions closer to 1.5x3.5.sciencecat42 wrote:What does "nominal eye outside diameter" mean? Specifically the word "nominal." How much clearance should we be leaving then? Would 3cm diagonal be enough? Since 1 inch is 2.54cm.Unome wrote:In context, I'd say "nominal" means roughly "as labeled".
