Re: BEARSO Invitational
Anyone else a little bothered by the requirement that bird names match the Nats list exactly? I know graders have lives too and can't go through them all manually but can't the coding be changed to not be case- or hyphen- sensitive?
I'm willing to just deal with it for BEARSO but having this for the whole season would be really painful.

Re: BEARSO Invitational
I agree, I think sensitivity to that level is a little extreme. I hope it can be adjusted for the future, and BEARSO can hopefully be a good representation of how it needs to be changed. If most teams have no issue with submitting exact names, than the issue should not be prioritized, but if it's a major issue, obviously the issue will be of much higher priority.SilverBreeze wrote: ↑October 9th, 2020, 9:04 pmAnyone else a little bothered by the requirement that bird names match the Nats list exactly? I could also understand how a gray area could mess with the dev's ability to fix this. As in, should you count "American Golden Plober"? Is that a typo or legitimate error? "Ruby Throated Hummingbird" vs "Ruby-Throated Hummingbird"?
I hope this can be adjusted in some way, though. Nevertheless, I believe that the developer behind Scilympiad has a lot of work on his plate, and I can understand that there are probably a lot of things he is working on when developing a full-scale testing site. I hope it can be fixed, but no rush.
Also, good luck to everyone competing tomorrow!

Lowest scores I've heard of were about 200, but the higher scores I've seen have been around 1500 regionsciolyperson1 wrote: ↑October 11th, 2020, 6:27 amAny boomi score ranges? Distance was 425mm and width was 65mm.
