Hi thank you I discussed with Ms.Kim Gervase and communicating virtually is very difficult. It would be wonderful if you could clarify this issue as we need to assign events to different people soon so we can prepare for the December invitational. It has been very confusing because I am unsure if we need to study for these makeup events because if we do we won't know until February 20th because thats when we will run into errors and that means that we will have approximately only 3 weeks to study for them. I know what makeup events are and why they are there but I am unsure if we have to study for them because we don't know if we will run into errors. I hope you understand what I mean and if not I can clarify.

I am looking at the following PDF: https://ncscienceolympiad.ncsu.edu/wp-c ... hedule.pdf

If you could just give me a certain and official list of events that I can make the team study for it would help. So I don't get confused between makeup and regular events.
Hello! When I read this I get the impression that all of these events will be run, but on two different days. The line, "Makeup tests for tech problems at the discretion of the regional director." is likely a note that if your team runs into technical problems when the event is scheduled to run, the regional director would have the option to allow you to make up your test for an already run event at a different, unspecified time. This also aligns with the start of year presentation (https://ncscienceolympiad.ncsu.edu/wp-c ... view-1.pdf) outlining their tournament models.

It would be best to validate this with other confirmation. Either way, best of luck this season!

Hey folks! In case it wasn't clear, there won't be a North Carolina-specific birds list this year, so you shouldn't use the North Carolina-specific list from last year. Instead, you'll want to refer to the list from SO Inc. instead, which is the same one in the rules manual.

If anybody has more North Carolina questions, feel free to ask here! General discussion and tournament predictions are also welcome!

Is the NCSO website down? It’s been redirecting to a weird URL for the past few days.

That being said, it’s weird to think that the season is technically “starting” in a few weeks. I’m not super active on here anymore, but it’s been nice to see what it looks like on the competitors’ side nowadays.
