Re: New York 2019
Complete shot in the dark guess for div B bc I don't wanna research invite results for this:
1. Gelinas (it's like always gelinas)
2. Eagle Hill- could swap with bay
3. Bay- I can see them qualifing over eagle
4. Goff- Qualified nats last year although with bay and eagle the chances of a repeat doesn't seem too good
5. RC Murphy- basically the last school that even has a chance at qualifying for nats. No invites really hurts, but also means that nobody knows how strong they are
6. CJ Hooker (based off of last years results)
7. Port Jefferson (based off of last years results)
8. Pleasentville
9. Calkins Road (10 last yr)
10. South Woods (from what I heard the team is weaker then the last 2 years, but they did capture their first regionals win ever over CP Weber, but Weber does look weaker then previous years. I'm attributting this to mostly Weber deteriorating over the past few years, but maybe South Woods will place higher)

...what about 2017...? (not to say I disagree with the rank, kate just has a better reason;P).Name wrote:Complete shot in the dark guess for div B bc I don't wanna research invite results for this:

Also, sadly won't comment on ranks since you all probably know better at this point...funny what has / hasn't changed over the years, though.

Re: New York 2019
Wait Spackenkill beating Mount Academy was 2 years ago? (I feel old...)
Anyway I'm going to guess Div C as:
1. Columbia
2. Ward Melville
3. Fayetteville-Manlius
4. Syosset
5. Great Neck South
6. Mount Academy
and Div B:
1. Gelinas
2. Bay Academy
3. Eagle Hill
4. Murphy
5. Goff
(but as with everyone else 3-5 is basically guessing and 2 is uncertain for sure)

Fixed (but it's pretty close either way).

Re: New York 2019
Those are kids from Gelinas, they just think they're not going to nats cause they're a bit weaker this year than last year, but they've been doing really well at invitationals. Frankly I think their statements are ridiculous because first of all we haven't seen anything from Eagle Hill yet, so we can't predict that they'll win states, and Bay Academy may be good this year but they lack the experience that Gelinas has. The kids from Gelinas are just being unnecessarily pessimistic and I think they should believe in themselves and their team more.dxu46 wrote:To all of the people that think Gelinas isn't going to nats: chill.

Re: New York 2019
I think it also heavily depends on how Mount does for study events given they generally do very well for builds, but Syosset has improved significantly for certain build events.Name wrote:So are you predicting GNS or Mount to be 5th?Unome wrote: 6. Great Neck South
