Complete shot in the dark guess for div B bc I don't wanna research invite results for this:
1. Gelinas (it's like always gelinas)
2. Eagle Hill- could swap with bay
3. Bay- I can see them qualifing over eagle
4. Goff- Qualified nats last year although with bay and eagle the chances of a repeat doesn't seem too good
5. RC Murphy- basically the last school that even has a chance at qualifying for nats. No invites really hurts, but also means that nobody knows how strong they are
6. CJ Hooker (based off of last years results)
7. Port Jefferson (based off of last years results)
8. Pleasentville
9. Calkins Road (10 last yr)
10. South Woods (from what I heard the team is weaker then the last 2 years, but they did capture their first regionals win ever over CP Weber, but Weber does look weaker then previous years. I'm attributting this to mostly Weber deteriorating over the past few years, but maybe South Woods will place higher)
SW 16-17 Syosset 18-21. Previous main events: Microbe, Invasive, Herp, Matsci, Fermi
Hoping to do Astro, Code, and Ornith next year
2018-19 highlights
mit- 1st code, 3rd fermi
cornell- 1st fermi
states- 1st fermi, 3rd astro, 3rd code
18 medals

...what about 2017...? (not to say I disagree with the rank, kate just has a better reason;P).

Also, sadly won't comment on ranks since you all probably know better at this point...funny what has / hasn't changed over the years, though.
B: Crave the Wave, Environmental Chemistry, Robo-Cross, Meteorology, Physical Science Lab, Solar System, DyPlan (E and V), Shock Value
C: Microbe Mission, DyPlan (Earth's Fresh Waters), Fermi Questions, GeoMaps, Gravity Vehicle, Scrambler, Rocks, Astronomy

Wait Spackenkill beating Mount Academy was 2 years ago? (I feel old...)

Anyway I'm going to guess Div C as:
1. Columbia
2. Ward Melville
3. Fayetteville-Manlius
4. Syosset
5. Great Neck South
6. Mount Academy

and Div B:
1. Gelinas
2. Bay Academy
3. Eagle Hill
4. Murphy
5. Goff
(but as with everyone else 3-5 is basically guessing and 2 is uncertain for sure)

So are you predicting GNS or Mount to be 5th?
Fixed (but it's pretty close either way).

Those are kids from Gelinas, they just think they're not going to nats cause they're a bit weaker this year than last year, but they've been doing really well at invitationals. Frankly I think their statements are ridiculous because first of all we haven't seen anything from Eagle Hill yet, so we can't predict that they'll win states, and Bay Academy may be good this year but they lack the experience that Gelinas has. The kids from Gelinas are just being unnecessarily pessimistic and I think they should believe in themselves and their team more.
Last year I knew stuff about rocks, minerals, experiments, and ecosystems, yay!
Now I know stuff about amphibians, reptiles, water, and more experiments, yay again!

Fixed (but it's pretty close either way).

I think it also heavily depends on how Mount does for study events given they generally do very well for builds, but Syosset has improved significantly for certain build events.

...oxymoron? Exhibit A of things changing?! (sorry, I'll contribute to the discussion >.>)

I think Mount Academy has the most stable top 5ish spot considering how long they've stayed there. I also don't see why Chaminade wouldn't be top 10. As for whichever NYC / upstate schools will get top 10 other than Stuy...probably I'd get it wrong, so no comment there.

Chaminade could potentially grab a spot in top ten given their invite performances. Up in the air imo.

In case anyone cares... Goff is not doing as well this year than last year, but still going strong... I predict a strong year for RCM even without the invys. Cornell should tell us more
