LET'S START THIS QUESTION MARATHON CHAIN!!!
can we reclaim our title of longest Question Marathon thread that we very sadly lost last season? let's find out!

let's get started with some simple nervous system questions:
1. What is the purpose of synapses?
2. What is the All-or-Nothing rule pertaining to stimuli?
3. Name 2 functions of the nervous system.

1. Synapse is the small gap between two neurons, it allows the signal from one neuron to be passed to the other one
2. Basically saying that the stimuli won't be initiated until it reaches the threshold or go beyond it. If it reaches it, the stimuli is initiated. If it doesn't, stimuli isn't initiated.
3. Perception and sensation

3. Perception and sensation
1. Technically, you are correct, but I would add that it ensures one-way transmission of impulses.
2. Yep!
3. Correct, but I was expecting a more detailed response.

Your turn!

Okay! we'll continue with the nervous system!
1. What are the two types of ganglia in the enteric nervous system?
2. What is the difference between peripheral nervous system and central nervous system?
3. What are two functions of the autonomic nervous system?

1. Myenteric and submucosal ganglia are found in the enteric nervous system, a branch of the PNS
2. The CNS is encased in bone, and includes the brain and spinal cord. The PNS branches out to other parts of the body.
3. Regulate blood pressure, pupillary response

Thank you! Still on neuro lol,
1. Whats an easy analogy for the myelin sheath's relation to the neuron axon? Why?
2. What is one substance that can cross the blood brain barrier? What gives it the ability to do so?
3. Acetylcholine a common neurotransmitter found at neuromuscular junctions? What makes this the ideal neurotransmitter?

1. insulation on wire; it increases signal speed and prevents it from getting lost
2. O2; small and nonpolar
3. easily synthesized and degraded?
