Volta - invented the voltaic pile, giving insight into Galvani's idea of "animal electricity"
Edit: Oh, beaten to it

You can actually go ahead and make the next question. I'm short on time rn.

Okay. suppose you have three nodes arranged in a triangle shape with a 5-kohm resistor connecting nodes 1 and 2, a 6-kohm resistor connecting nodes 2 and 3, and a 7-kohm resistor connecting nodes 3 and 1. Build a new circuit with the same resistance between nodes but in a Y shape so that nodes 1, 2, and 3 are all one resistor away from a central node. (Sorry for the lack of diagram.)

From Node x to center:
3 kohm
2 kohm
4 kohm

That's not what I got :/

I'm assuming that the resistors in the Y are in series. That means that
Nodes 1-2 = 3 + 2 = 5 kOhm
Nodes 2-3 = 2 + 4 = 6 kOhm
Nodes 1-3 = 3 + 4 = 7 kOhm

You're forgetting that node 1 in the triangle is connected to node 3 in two different ways. Use delta-y conversion.

1.9445 k-ohm
1.6665 k-ohm
2.3335 k-ohm
Obviously some rounding errors, but if my methods were correct, it should be close enough.
(Also, finally some math. I can finally get into the game!)
