Increasing CO2 levels will increase ocean acidity because of dissolving CO2 in the water, which can kill the corals. Moreover, the increasing acidity will prevent the forming of Calcium Carbonate, which is essential to coral and reef life.
I also go by Chino.

Yup, they can also warm the oceans causing bleaching along with sea level rise which makes it harder for corals to get sunlight.

Revival!

1. What is so exceptional about the preservation of specimens in Beecher's Trilobite Bed?
2. In the Burgess Shale formation, what evidence proves that the organisms died instantly?
Image
3. Name the genus of this specimen.
4. What was the diet of this specimen?
5. Did this specimen walk on 2 legs or 4 legs?

How do you reveal the answer when it says "click to show answer" because when I click it does not show?

All right, but for number 1 I was looking for how the mode of preservation in Beecher's Trilobite Bed resulted in exceptional preservation The soft tissue of the specimens were preserved by pyrite replacement, which meant the soft tissue could be studied by X-rays. and for number 2, you could have added There is no evidence of the specimens attempting to burrow out, which meant they must have died instantly..

Hi, sorry I haven't responded to this thread in so long. I was spending my time writing a fossils test for the Northview invite.
Since I don't have the mind capacity/any interest to come up with any more questions, I'm just going to use some from the test

A. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/cho ... 0605163219
B. http://www.thefossilforum.com/uploads/m ... 565344.jpg
C.https://t2.ea.ltmcdn.com/en/images/2/7/ ... 72_600.jpg
D.http://www.northtexasfossils.com/fieldt ... 64-800.jpg
E.https://www.thoughtco.com/thmb/4t4XUwID ... c91623.jpg

1. Identify the lowest taxonomic level of specimens A-E to (1a-1e on answer sheet). Make sure you write the taxonomic rank. hint: for specimen A give the genus
2. Fill in the blank: Class Placodermi have bones made of matrix with mostly collagen fibers hardened by ____________
3. Which of the specimens are extant? (hint: there are two)
4. What is the theory that relates specimen B to A?
5. What evidence supports the theory proposed in question 4?
6. What is the species (on fossils list) that is in specimen A?
7. What is the sexual dimorphism in the species from question 6?
8. What is the etymology (word origin) of specimen C?
9. What class does specimen E belong to?
10. Which lagerstatten can you find an abundance of specimen E?
