I'm gonna keep it simple bc honestly, I'm not the best at this lol.

1. Which of the following has more than one nucleus?
a) osteoclast
b) osteocyte
c) osteoclast
d) bone lining cells
e) osteogenic cells

2. Most common type of scoliosis: ________

3. Which of the following has intercalated disks?
a) Skeletal muscle
b) smooth muscle
c) cardiac muscle
d) B and C
e) all of the above

4. Which of the following facts are true?
a. DMD is a common type of Muscular Dystrophy.
b. DMD is x-linked.
c. DMD is more common in boys.
d. B and C
e. All of the above.

5. How does the DNA structure contribute to the integumentary system's biological barriers?

6. OPTIONAL: What state are you taking the test in?

5. hmmm, i'm not sure, but I know that UV light damages the structure of DNA and can eventually lead to skin cancers
6. the state of tiredness

Lol, I love number 6!!
You have them all right. For number 5 tho, I read in one of the SciOLy handouts that the electrons in the DNA structure absorb UV Rays to minimize the effect of UV Rays (honestly I am not sure how correct that is)

woo i'll just give three questions because busyness (business?)

1. Explain the roles of titin and nebulin.
2. About what percentage of body weight is skin approximated to take up?

1. Titin gives elastic stabilization of relative positions of myosin and actin filaments, Nebulin stabilizes actin filaments, thereby regulating filament length 2. 16% 3. Bisphosphonates and Monoclonal antibody medications idk if that was right
1.What compound in the disease-causing organisms mediates adhesion? Access to what epithelial cell receptor component is necessary for colonization?
2.75-year old Asian lady comes in complaining of progressive loss of height. She says she feels like she is stooping forward more and more and is unable to walk upright. An x-ray of her back is attachedbelow. She says she also feels intermittent, shooting pain down her left leg. She also has tingling and numbness down here left leg sometimes. Her medical history indicates that she was previously treated for breast cancer with surgery and radiation(Look at the attached image). What disorder is the patient suffering from? Why is the patient experiencing shooting pain down her left leg? As a physician given your patients past medical record, what should you be worried about?
3.Where are calcium channels in smooth muscle concentrated?

1. Paget's disease is caused by the initial action of what type of cell?
a. What ligand is released to stimulate the action of this type of cell?

2. How might the inflammation process lead to necrosis?

3. What muscular disorder is characterized by the inability to relax muscles?
b. What protein in the sarcomere aides in muscle relaxation?
1. Osteoblasts
1a. RANKL
2. The inflammation process is your immune system protecting your body from pathogens and foreign bodies and necrosis is the process of cell death caused by pathogens. Inflammation usually triggers necrosis as one of the ways to heal the body.
3. Poliomyeltis
3b. (I have no idea but I'm guessing) Troponin/tropomyosin since they block the myosin from attaching itself to actin unless there is calcium.

1. Explain the roles of titin and nebulin.
2. About what percentage of body weight is skin approximated to take up?
3. Name 2 treatment options for osteoporosis.
1. Individual molecules of the giant muscle proteins titin and nebulin span large distances in the sarcomere. Titin and/or nebulin apparently provide axial continuity for the production of resting tension on stretch and also tend to keep the thick filaments centered within the sarcomere during force generation.
2. About 16%
3. The first and foremost EFFECTIVE treatment for osteoporosis is to make sure a force is introduced to the bone, e.g. walking, swimming, sporting activities, etc... but the force need not be into the bone, but can be produced by stretching muscle, ligaments and tendons. This is easily accomplished through yoga or any other means of stretching.

So why is the old man answering these questions, when you young pups should be doing the heavy lifting :?: ;)
