Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
Hey this is a bit interesting but I was reading through an earth sci textbook I had the other day and I’m now confused if it was either Frank B. Taylor or Wegner who proposed continental drift first.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
So Frank had the first hypothesis in 1908 but Wegener found it and developed it further in 1912. Wegener is often credited for it, however.

Re: Dynamic Planet B/C
This is correct. Wegener is the one that proposed it to the world, largely because Frank didn't have the evidence and decided against publishing his hypothesis.donjuanpond wrote: ↑May 6th, 2021, 12:25 pm So Frank had the first hypothesis in 1908 but Wegener found it and developed it further in 1912.
