Ah yeah, I wasn't sure about the difference between those two terms.

What's the difference between a syncline and an anticline? What's the difference between a syncline and a synform?
When the earth is in wavy-folds, the syncline is folded around the baby rocks, and the anticline is folded around old rocks. A syncline is the fold, and the synform is that the fold is pointed? down

A syncline has youngest layers closer to the middle while an anticline has youngest layers farthest from the middle. A synform is a downward fold. Synclines are usually synforms but may be overturned to become antiformal synclines.
Your turn!

If apparent bed thickness xy equals 15 units, please give true bed thickness to the nearest hundredth unit. Never trust image proportions.

sin 25 * 15 = 6.34?

I believe it's
15cos 25° = 13.6 (or 14 if we're going with sigfigs)
I can post an explanation of how I got that if anyone wants.

Correct! I did sin(90)/15=sin(25)/x, (x=c) but your way works fine.

Please do explain. (also 13.6 only goes to the tenth, doesn't it?)

Wait I misread the problem lol never mind my answer, freed2003 is correct.

Describe Horsts and Grabens along with their cause.
Horsts and grabens are created when land is sandwiched between two normal faults. Horsts are raised, and grabens are lowered.
