Any good ways to find the center of mass of the rocket?

My rocket has been having a bit of trouble keeping straight.
Carbon Fiber and glue are all you need for flying events

My friend says build events are easy. Trying to prove him wrong.

Just find where it balances. For us we've had to ad weight to the top and ouch the CG just above the middle of the rocket.

So our ceiling height for the competition is 55 ft with a maximum pressure of 65 psi. Even when using a liter bottle with 65 psi, we are not getting close to the ceiling. (Our deployment is super consistent though)

Thank you, and I have one more question. This is more like asking everyone's opinions but which shape is better for parachutes - octagon or circle? Everyone pls share your opinions. Because I have been testing dif parachutes and I can't figure out which shape is better..

I'm having trouble with deployment- the strings and canopy of my parachute tend to get stuck on the rocket when it reaches it's apex, so the parachute just falls with the rocket. Any tips on successful deployment? Sorry if someone else posted this already.
