Anyone tried a spherical parachute?

Also, does more strings give better stability?
Carbon Fiber and glue are all you need for flying events

My friend says build events are easy. Trying to prove him wrong.

What do you mean spherical? Like a circle shape?

What are your highest times? Our highest time is 1 minute, but there was HVAC on at the time. This was a 35-foot ceiling.

Wow! impressive. Of course I wouldn't expect you to give away any trade secrets here, but was that just a standard circular plastic parachute catching a lucky updraft? A lot of teams (including ours) are struggling to break the 1 sec/ft barrier.

I think spherical means having a shape other than flat, like a dome.

I've made two but neither worked. The problem is that I can't figure out how to put the pieces together without adding a lot of weight with tape or glue.

Yeah, it was a very lucky updraft. The parachute started rising towards the ceiling, then dropping.

Top time at soup was about 28 seconds I heard. 33 ft of useable space (rafters at 20 ft but didn't affect flights that much)
