This is amazing. Do you mind sharing the mass of your parachute? With the materials I'm currently using, getting much over 1 sec/ft would require an absurdly large parachute, and 2 is not possible.

Design plays a large aspect rather than material. We use the really thin plastic garbage bag material for our parachutes.

Are people tying the strings to the parachute to reduce the mass?

Sorry, but how does that lower mass?

No adhesive = less mass.

I thought people tape their parachute before making a hole and tying the string....

Does the tape reinforce the hole so it doesn't rip?

That's what I've heard, usually, people tape that area then make a hole using a hole puncher then they tie it, they say adding tape helps it not rip but isn't that the same wight as simply taping it? I find taping the strings easier but I wanted everyone's opinion if tying is better, plus wont there be more tangles then I'm sorry if I sound slow

Tangling should not ever be a problem unless you are mishandling your parachute. In addition, the difference between taping strings and making holes in the parachute is minimal. Both should be the same as long as you find a way to make it consistent.

Makes sense, I've been trying to make my score better any advice? I'm planning on just making the parachute bigger...
