Action iv: Pour water into container to raise golf ball

Action iv:
Add water to a container to raise a golf ball at least 5 cm so that the golf ball rolls out of the top of the container and initiates the next action.

There are other ways to do this, of course. But this is one of them.

For this to work you need to take these parts to the hardware store and the PVC pipes that fit these. Then use PVC cement to seal and also other sealants so that they don't leak.
You also need to buy surgical hose.
You also need foam that you can shape as a cylinder and put inside the bottom container so that it can raise the ball.
Make sure to measure the appropriate lengths of PVC pipe to cut so that there is enough water to transfer from one container to the other and enough to raise the golf ball by 5cm up.
Bottom container when assembled must have about a 5 to 10 degree tilt so that the ball drops from the same tip.

To pour the water from top container to bottom container you can do either of these three things: a) Opening a pinched hose. b) Dropping part of the hose by gravity. or c) Pulling on a mouse ball from the top container that seals the bottom orifice of the top container as shown in the You tube video here:

There is one problem. The golf ball is too heavy, and therefore sinks in the water. I tested this even with salt water, and the golf ball still didn't rise.

There's also an FAQ on soinc.org that specifies that you can't use saltwater anyway. :?

I know this might be odd, but my partner and I have a hard time finding a way to pour the water into a container. We don't really understand the ideas and timing of how to unleash the water. We were thinking of either capaillay action or a homopolar motor, but both these ideas seem unrealistic and quite hard. Any ideas of how we can use the water?

If I understand your problem, then you don't even need to pour water into a container. Why not just use a pipe to make the water flow. If the pipe is low enough then water can flow through it. trdd listed a few ways to do this above, like making a pipe fall from a very high position where water can't flow through the pipe. Just look above at trdd's post and look at all of the ways there. You don't even have to use the 3d printed parts, you can just use any bottle and it still works. I hope this answers your question!
