If not, can you at least direct me to a source or guide me to where I can learn more about which add-ons are important. I was put into this event just 4 days before my comp, so I really need help :D. Thanks!
On the CBM Website there are links to the original research papers for the AcrIIA4 protein. I think you should check those out. As far as which ones are important, you should use your own discretion after reading the papers and choose the ones you think are best.

I need something to make the pre-built model. There is not enough time for something to arrive from online, so I need something from a retail store. Can you please
suggest/link something that could work (Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, Target, etc.) Thank you so much

12-gauge dimensional house wire actually works quite well. I've seen a lot of teams use that as their backbone. If you want to add side chains, you can then wrap pipe cleaners around it. Good luck with your comp

Does the final alpha helix begin at Glu71, or Glu70?

For those that participated in the past, how much time are we given on the written test and how much time are we given on the building?
Or do you get to distribute the time yourself?

In Jmol, you can just do 'color structure' and hover your mouse on where the last helix begins (I think its purple for a 3-10 helix)

In general, one person would do the build and two would do the test, simultaneously. You just get 50 minutes, total.

In addition to what cookie said, at my regionals the team wasn't split aka we were all sitting at the same table. So you could maybe confer between the build and test person but don't count on it. Total is 50 minutes

For those who went to Solon, what were some of the pre-build scores out there? I was honestly shocked at how low my score was, and the same for the on-site build. Also, where are the rubrics???? still placed top 1/4 so im not too upset, but still.

For the prebuild, I want to put 25 (asn) on the protein. However, how do you know if the nitrogen or oxygen should be on the correct side based on your point of view? I used clay to make them.
Sincerely,
Vivian
