Are calculators allowed? and does anyone who went to nationals last year know if there was a map drawing?

yes, you're allowed to bring two non-graphing non-programmable calculators iirc as per the rules

There should have been (I didn't go :( ) but if there wasn't and the test writer was the same as 2017 i'd be disappointed.

Yes, calculators are allowed (as Anomaly already said), and yes, there was map drawing at Nationals last year.

if you have access to the coaches manual by soinc, then that has most of the things that you need to know for this event. After you've learned what everything is and how to do everything, then all you need to do is practice. How quickly a team finishes the test usually determines how well you do, especially in upper levels of competition.

does anyone know if the Smithton invitational in Columbia MO is going to be rescheduled?

I have friends on the Ladue Middle team, and they haven't gotten any news about any rescheduling. My guess is that it won't be rescheduled, since it's a small tournament and it's close to the end of the season anyways.
