Re: Fermi Questions C
Also, do they provide scratch paper or do you only do calculations on the paper that you are given?

Usually they provide scratch, be prepared to work without it just in case though.eagerlearner102 wrote:Also, do they provide scratch paper or do you only do calculations on the paper that you are given?

Re: Fermi Questions C
Anyone know how many questions or around how many questions would be on a test for the State competition?

Re: Fermi Questions C
SoCal last year had 60, but it was also an hour-long test, rather than 50 minutes.Blank25 wrote:Anyone know how many questions or around how many questions would be on a test for the State competition?

Re: Fermi Questions C
We finally got tests back! 128 was good for third (I guess we won the TB)jaggie34 wrote:Does anyone know what the top scores looked like for fermi at MIT?

Re: Fermi Questions C
What's your guys' advice on working with your partner? We did around 3 practice rounds and got 59% on the 2018 MIT test which is relatively good.
For me, I work well with my partner but I want to hear from other people's perspective especially about efficiency and checking answers.

Re: Fermi Questions C
When my partner and I take practice tests, we usually divide the questions in half. Generally, my partner takes questions having to do energy and space and large distances while I do the questions dealing with measures of stuff related to humans and stuff on Earth. Likewise, he memorizes the constants and formulas for that kind of stuff while I memorize the constants and formulas related to the other stuff.eagerlearner102 wrote:What's your guys' advice on working with your partner? Re: Fermi Questions C
For shorter tests (or usually where everything's on one sheet) we do the test together. Otherwise we split the test, I usually take more because im faster. By the end I've done all my partner's questions too to check (so basically be fast enough to solo). Then just keep redoing questions to check, the time TB doesn't really matter. Also ask yout partner if you don't know something, they hopefully will.eagerlearner102 wrote:What's your guys' advice on working with your partner?
