the problem & the map mentioned in the problem
I was not able to find a way to actually solve it, but I know it's theoretically possible to solve (I made the map using some mapping software, which is where I got the answers from). I probably should have made it worth more points though.

do you have any idea of where to begin to figure out how to solve it? i'd really appreciate it (and yeah it seems pretty difficult for the number of points it's worth)

Try setting up some equal-altitude outcrops I guess.

Upon reflection, I think part of the issue might be that I couldn't find a scale for the map in the question, which made finding dip difficult.

The scale won't matter, I don't think (think about squishing or stretching the possibilities).

Does anyone know the name of the diagrams that are boxes with lines around them to represent a cross section or something? It was on the socal test last year.
