2,) What is Ekman flow?
3.) Name 3 types of deep or bottom water
1. Surface currents flow east to west, so the net movement of water via Eckman transport is away from the equator due to the differing direction of the Coriolis effect in each hemisphere, which causes deep water to rise up to replace this outward flow.
2. Eckman flow is the net movement of water as a result of wind, friction and the Coriolis effect, which occurs 90 degrees to the right of the wind in the Northern Hemisphere and 90 degrees to the left of the wind in the Southern Hemisphere.
3. I can't tell what you are asking for here, can you elaborate?
As in "Antarctic Bottom Water", produced due to salt being exuded during ice crystal formation causing surrounding water to have ridiculously high salinity around 33%.
