Long Island Science Olympiad (LISO) Invitational 2018

Post by islipscioly »

The LISO Invitational for 2018 is undergoing a couple of changes.

1. The tournament will be a combined Division B and Division C event. The registration for MS and HS will be capped at 36 and 48 teams, respectively.
2. Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale, NY will be the host facility for this year. We thank the Islip Public Schools for serving as the host site for the past five years.
3. There will be a limit on the number of schools that will be able to bring two teams. Teams will be notified of their registration status as we move closer to the tournament date.

The tournament will still be held on the second Saturday in December (12/8/18). Registration information will be posted in the coming weeks. Please fill out the following form to be notified of any updates regarding the LISO Invy.

We look forward to seeing you there!

We will be opening registration for the joint MS and HS Science Olympiad tournament on Monday, August 20th at noon. Again, please note the change of location (Kellenberg Memorial HS in Uniondale, NY on Saturday, December 8th). Registration will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. Schools wishing to bring multiple teams will be notified of whether one or two teams have been accepted by September 1st. Space is limited, so we must ensure that enough space for the events and team home bases will be available.

Information for payment will be provided in the registration confirmation email that will be sent around the beginning of September. Also, please note that purchase orders will not be accepted for payment. The registration email will include an invoice and W9 for you to generate a physical check from your school districts. Checks must be received by October 31st in order to secure your spot at the tournament.

Details for the tournament will be posted on a new website, which will be available by the middle of September. The registration form can be found here: https://goo.gl/forms/oJcYVj3tBGmqLkC33. It is currently not accepting responses, but it will be open at noon on Monday, August 20th.

If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know through email at [email protected].

We are looking forward to hosting the nearly 90 middle school and high school teams in less than three months! The website for the tournament has been launched. We will be updating the site with more information as we get closer to the tournament. Best of luck with everyone this season!

I'm bored so why not...

Disclaimer: These predictions have no real reasoning behind them, given that it is still very early in the season.

Division C:
1. WWPN
2. Rustin
3. Montgomery

idk after that
