University of Michigan Invitational 2019

Post by MIScioly1 »

I am very excited to say that the second annual University of Michigan Science Olympiad Invitational will be held on February 16, 2019 at the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor. Once again, this will be a Division C Invitational, though we hope to add division B in the future. Last year’s tournament was a ton of fun, and we are all looking forward to making this year’s tournament even better!

While we will be making several minor changes and improvements based on feedback from last year’s tournament, the basic structure will remain similar; we will be providing tests for and supervising all of the events, so coaches will not need to run an event and can focus on their teams.

Registration will be opening sometime in the middle of September. For those coaches in Michigan and those who attended last year’s tournament, we will notify you via email updates; for those in other states, please visit our website at http://www.umichscioly.org/ for updates! Or, if you would like to be added to our email list and did not attend the tournament last year, please send me a PM. A video from last year’s tournament can also be found on our website. We anticipate that we will be able to accept around 50-55 teams this year.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone there next year! Go blue!

Registration for the invitational will open on September 17, 2018 at 6:00PM ET. The registration fee has not been finalized yet but will tentatively be around $80 (and will not in any case be more than $80). If your coach did not receive an email from us tonight but you are interested in attending our invitational, please send me a PM and I will add you to our email list.

Yes, though we hope to expand it to Division B in the future. I'll make an edit.

Northville and International Academy Central will take the first 2 spots.
Detroit Country Day, Forest Hills Central, Saline and Holt will complete the top 6.
I don't know about the ordering, though.

I would have to assume that Carmel and Munster will be in the top 5 without too much problem if stacked, perhaps even if unstacked.

I would agree. I messed up. I kind of keep an eye on the Ohio teams, but not the Indiana teams.
