it's not about the medals; go out there and have fun. make progress, learn a few things and have one heck of a time; that's all that matters.

Heh if they use the detectors to measure the thermo devices...

Also when I first saw the name detector building I was like oh so people are building metal detectors now...

Can someone explain what the oldies but goodies stuff are? I'm confused lol.

They are pre-2000 events (oldie), but volunteers are running some of them for the fun of it (goodie). They're being run on Friday (same day as other trials). IDT there are awards, but there may be some type of mini-awards during the opening ceremony.
