If you ignore Cornell and simply look at the placements/point values from other invitationals, Mason looks weaker and Solon maybe slightly stronger than last year, but I am a bit biased.

I agree Centerville is always a bit of a wild card seeing as they don't go to nearly as many invitationals as Solon or Mason.
I agree that if you ignore Cornell, Solon looks as strong as ever. But I find it kind of hard to ignore Cornell, especially considering Solon’s score was worsened by multiple low placings and not like a single 30+ bomb. And I am also a bit biased, as I enjoy crazy predicts that go against historical trends.
No it’s easy to ignore Cornell it just seems like you don’t want to for some reason
I’m not ignoring Cornell because I think all invitational performances (good and bad) are relevant in predicts. Solon not sweeping Cornell indicates that they have plenty of room to grow, and that it’s very possible that Centerville could have grown more in the time being.

I've long held a mantra that "a team is never as bad as its worst invitational". Variation will occur, of course, but it's served me well. Sometimes the most important takeaway of an invitational for a team is not the final score.

I think they've been a pretty underrated team and I feel like they'll be able to get their act together come nationals. Also they did pretty well at Cornell, albeit with a very close score distribution.

The teams that have a lot of room for improvement are the teams that keep bombing events: Beckendorff, Solon, SSA. Teams like Bay Academy and Piedmont have only some room - they got 19th and 20th in their worst events, respectively, so I agree with wzhang that Piedmont should be a bit lower.

I did consider them but I just don't think they're that good this year.

Div C:
1. Troy

2. Acton-Boxborough
3. Mason
4. Solon
5. WWPN (or WWPS)

6. Mounds View
7. 7L/Clements
8. Boca Raton
9. Columbia
10. Harriton
11. Mira Loma
12. New Trier

This is looking like one of the most competitive groups of teams in years. I listed 12 because all of them seem like easy top 10 placers. I grouped the teams into three tiers (1, 2-5, 6-12), within which I'm basically guessing what order they'll come in. No disrespect to Harriton, Mira Loma, or New Trier, they seem like top 10 teams, there are just so many competitive teams this year it's impossible to decide what order they'll come in.
