They're a little bit worse than Tower Heights, Baker, Orlando Science, Solon and DW's JV team, and a little better than Slauson's unstacked teams, New Albany, Tower Height's JV team. (According to Centerville Results). I'd predict they'd get around 25th.Unome wrote:Wait Raymond Park exists... how have they been doing? I remember they had a strong score at state.

They also got beat by Meads Mill's stacked team. At Solon they got beat by Science and Arts most notably and 6th overall. They got second to Magsig at their invite, won Bardstown, got 4th at Northmont, and 5th at WLS. I don't have scoresheets tho I just know from their twittersciolyperson1 wrote:They're a little bit worse than Tower Heights, Baker, Orlando Science, Solon and DW's JV team, and a little better than Slauson's unstacked teams, New Albany, Tower Height's JV team. Another two things to consider is A). RP would have gotten a score of 79 had Boom been counted (Our coach really likes making a point of that...). B). We just aren't sure if this year was as competitive as past years. Our team just generally doesn't feel like it's really improved or at least improved to the score that we got. We also lost good freshmen too. So I wouldn't put us to 11th maybe 15th at best for us. 25th for Raymond sounds reasonable tho considering it's their first nats.

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
It’s still quite rare for the second place Indiana team to get sub-100 tho, and that can also say quite a bit about their strength as well. I’m sure they can definitely hit the 20-30 range, if they have a really good day, I think they’re capable of getting into the top 20. One thing that is definitely not to be underestimated of them is their spirit - it is INSANELY strong. I’ve witnessed it, and it could be something that really helps power them.Bread wrote:They also got beat by Meads Mill's stacked team. Re: Unofficial Rankings B
Hey everyone! I really wanted to make some predictions, but it's hard to restrict a school to just one placing (plus there are definitely some teams I'm unfamiliar with). So I took a new approach to this whole prediction thing and I decided to list the schools I think are able to get within the top 20. But instead of definitively ranking them, I'm going to provide a range for the placings I think each team has the potential to get. However, I will be ranking the top 3 teams and providing reasoning for these. Here are my division B predictions! Feel free to criticize these. (Note: There are a few div B teams that I am unfamiliar with, so my predictions may not be as informed as others' are.)
Solon Middle School
• 1st
Community Middle School
• 2nd
Kennedy Middle School
• 3rd
- All three of these teams have the motivation, the consistency, the outstanding results, the potential to get top 3. Honestly, at this point it's anyone's call. However, I do believe that Solon is going to edge out their competition simply based on their states score and previous nationals results. They have shown time and time again that they are winners, and I have faith in them for this year's national competition. That being said, I put Community over Kennedy because of the inability to compare the two teams. I know they're both extremely strong teams, but I've just seen more of that competitiveness in Community because they've won all of their invitationals, and the ones they've gone to just have more nationally ranking teams. We'll see what happens at nationals, but I feel like this is the most logical standpoint.
Bedford Middle School

Also, I would like to apologize for attacking or heavily criticizing anyone's predictions. I don't mean to hurt anyone or come off as aggressive, I'm simply curious about the reasoning behind a lot of predictions, and if I really disagree with someone, I just want to show them why their prediction may not be accurate. I know the point of predictions is to predict results, but these threads are also for discussion of predictions, which I do want to engage in and am allowed to. I'm sorry for coming off as rude to anyone.

Re: Unofficial Rankings B
Well, now I'm going to make some terrible predictions. Here goes nothing:
1. Solon
2. Community
3. Kennedy
I just want to say that doing those top 3 were really hard. I think that Community improved this year, but at Cornell they only won marginally. Then I heard Solon was unstacked. I really hope Community will excel and win, but that's my personal bias. Kennedy is really hard to compare because they don't compete with the East Coast teams at all. So, please dont be offended by the 3rd.
4. Gelinas - I put then here because I think they can beat the people below them and I don't know who can beat them.
5. Beckendorff
6. DWJHS
7. Kraemer
8. Springhouse- Their state score was really close to others, and plus, I think that the teams above can beat them.
9. Marie Murphy?
10. Piedmont
I honestly can't make any other reasonable predictions past that because I don't know those teams well enough, basically not at all. However, there are a few special mentions.
Bedford- Personally, I think 20th is feasible. Those on the team may contradict that statement tho.
Eagle Hill - This was a surprise. I was really expecting Bay Academy to go to nats, and Eagle Hill beat them out. Now I don't know how to judge Eagle Hills invitational results. I'll say they can range from 16 - 22.
Harlan Rowe - Again, I was expecting SSA or Bala Cynwyd. 18 -21 is what I would say.
Feel free to rip up these predictions.

- Gelinas/Piedmont high by a few places
- Harlan Rowe way too high. Maybe top 20, but they would've been beaten by Bala or SSA if not for bombs
- Ladue a bit high. Consistency, remember.
- TJ high by a few places
- Lakeshore too low
- Tower Heights way too low
- Eagle Hill meh, idk how they'll do
- I think OSS is too low. Maybe a few places up, after all they did get a good state score + almost got 1st and 2nd
The rest I just don't really care about, ngl
also you forgot the period for 59th

Harlan Rowe and Tower Heights switch.
Eagle Hill and Bedford switch, Bedford has beaten them at many invitationals this year.
Kraemer's a bit low in my opinion.

I'm not sure why people think Tower Heights will do so well. They look pretty weak to me, even with one event thrown out they didn't have that great of a score.TheCrazyChemist wrote:Piedmont to high.
