The [Not So] Official Scioly [non endorsed] e-invitational

Post by WhatScience? »

Hello everyone

On either the weekend of February 17-18 or 24-25...I will be running a scioly.org e-invitational. What does this mean?? Well, I am asking YOU to [PLEASE] take the time to write a test. Any event that is tested B or C.... For everything that we get a test, we will run. After the tests are posted, you will have 1 week to take all of them with your team [or you can take your events alone if you wish]. We will run an event for everything that we get. I really think this would be a cool idea and would love for this to be success. Plus, it will help everyone, (including the schools that do not normally go to invitationals.) Every test will be released to those who wrote first and then everyone else maybe a little while later. Please post what you are willing to contribute in this thread. I really think this is a good idea and maybe we can get an annual thing going. I am giving prior notice 3 months in advance to give everyone time.

Please post to either enter or write. Do remember that if people don't write, we don't have an event.

I think I can write a test for Road Scholar, and since Exp. Design is basically just a topic and materials, I guess I can do that too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that Online Invitationals were banned at some point?

IDk about this but I don't think it really is an invitation...a.)there is no limit on the teams and b.) it's just a bunch of people taking tests and c.) we aren't releasing ranking so it isn't a competition...under your logic, exchanging/giving up resources would be banned...It's not an actual invitational because there are no rankings

However, if it is still not allowed, I won't do it

soinc.org says something along the lines of: virtual invitationals are not sanctioned by science olympiad and share materials as practice only. So yes, the proper word is not invitational. It is just an open sharing of resources on a set date.

I have tests. This would be fun. We should create a drop box and email chain for this. How about builds?
I don't know since scioly.org is an official science olympiad website. Best not do it here. But I think that if you were to do it privately, it would work?
Im up. For any test.
