Re: Studying events ahead of the rulebook release
About how much do the rules change? I remember two years ago in rocks and minerals, I studied off of the 2014 rules and they didn't change much...idk about other events though.

Re: Studying events ahead of the rulebook release
This really depends on the event...certain events are necessarily consistent (e.g. ExpD, Fossils/Rocks, Geomaps, Circuit Lab, the list goes on). Certain ones have new topics or are brand new, though (e.g. Density Lab, Code Busters, maybe Astro if we're talking topic changes).dxu46 wrote:About how much do the rules change? Re: Studying events ahead of the rulebook release
Some schools may publish older rulebooks. I know I found the Div C rulebook from 2013 on some school’s website, but I wasn’t specifically searching for that at the time so I couldn’t tell you which search criteria would work.

Re: Studying events ahead of the rulebook release
Remember that rules are copyrighted by soinc and should not be on any public site.
If you are unable to find an old copy of the rules, a good alternative is looking at old tests to see which kind of topics are tested.

Re: Studying events ahead of the rulebook release
The reasoning behind them charging for old rule manuals is totally beyond me tbh. As a nonprofit, SciOly should seek to make resources easily accessible to all schools..John Richardsim wrote:Remember that rules are copyrighted by soinc and should not be on any public site.

I get that they need some source of revenue.. but wow
