Do people at your school know youre in science olympiad?

My school's pretty small (300 people) and they announce how we did on the morning announcements so people know that we exist. But most people don't really care and when they do, its usually to make fun of us. :/ Plus, after states our whole team wore their SciOly t-shirts to school (and we have a dress code, collared shirts ect.) so its pretty hard not to notice. But other than inside of school, we get no publicity at all.

At my school we hardly get any publicity. Most people know that we are in it but they only mention it after a competition and they only talk about for that day. The nice thing is that it gives up +points for the teachers and so they like us a little bit more. The funny thing is that starting yesterday we started weather. It is one of my events and I am one of the few people in my class that know what gale and monsoons are. I find that a basic. That gets me noticed because everyone wants to see my answers.

At first, no one knew what Science O was, who was in it, etc., only that the more intellectual types were in it, which boosted my nerd esteem.

Anyway, so we made it to States my first year for the first time in a while. Newspapers wrote about it, but they were nothing big. The following year, most people knew what Science O was, and we made it to States again and got medals there. We then had a bigger article in the newspapers. The next year, we got a 2-section article, and more State medals, and pretty much everyone knows who we are! It's really cool to be in now, since some of the "popular" kids are in it too, and everyone likes winning awards. :3

Oh yes, we were sure to spread the word around the school about how we won States the next Monday

Some of my friends think it's really nerdy, but it's quite fun actually.

And those people who dissed me and said "I suck at SO" were corrected XD

Just about every person in my grade knows it. But they do make fun of us and probably call us nerds behind our backs, but I really don't care.

our school is pretty supportive of scioly (thanks to our feeder school beckendorff's achievements last year). we're not really recognized quite yet by administration but we're hoping that will change soon! anyways academic teams in general are really what our school's got going for it so most kids in the AP classes/ Pre-AP classes know about scioly and cheer us on. not sure about the other classes, but i think it's something that people have at least heard about once or twice. guess you can say we just have a pretty nerdy school xD

Yes - Every monday after a competition, we all wear our medals (just from that competition).
The principle also mentions us in the announcements, but nobody really listens to those anyway.

Less than 1/8 of the school is even in the SciOly. A lot of people know it exists, but they don't know who's in it.
