For anything Science Olympiad-related that might not fall under a specific event or competition.

I wish there was a purely math event, not just Technical Problem Solving and Fermi Questions.
Seconded, although it would defeat the point of Science Olympiad.

Although based on the request and state, I am now going to try to guess your identity for a while. You from Novi?

I've been wanting a genetics event since I was in Bio Process Lab freshman year and I had to cover that part of the event, but I'll be getting that next year, so I'm pretty happy.

I've done Heredity before as an event, it used to be an event ages ago. I liked it, it was a good event.

I've been hoping for a geology event other than Rocks and Minerals; don't get me wrong, I love R & M, but I feel like geology deserves more than an ID event, there should be something about geologic principles and such.

But then I saw the rules for the Geologic Mapping event as a NY state trial event, and it's basically college level geology. So maybe we're better off without an event like that.
2009 events:

Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats

Here's an event I came up with (I'd kinda like to participate in it)

Element of Surprise
There are 2 parts to this challenge.

A- A test about the Periodic Table, Compounds, Molecules, Atoms, Mixtures, Solutions, etc.

B- Students must make their own version of the Periodic table, along with their own system of organizing it.
They will be scores on Originality and Affectiveness.

Test makes up 50%, Table Concept makes up 50%

One team member must take the test, while the other developes the Table. The team members will be separated to prevent them from working together. If a team member is DQed, or is Penalized; they are only Penalized for their portion of the event.

Cheat Sheet making.
Road Scholar seems to depress everyone on my team who does it, but it's my favorite event...
