worst thing: This year at regionals, one of our teammates(who sadly doesn't have a scioly account) was sick and missed regionals!!!

Best part: we put our alternate(who also doesn't have a scioly account) on her events and we placed in Elevated Bridge(she had her parentss give us the bridge moments before we left), Crave the wave, and we did well in the rest of the events which I can't remember!!!!

Well, I almost missed nationals last year...If anyone remembers that salmonella outbreak last year, I got it...I was soo sick that I could barely even get out of bed the day before competition and the day after competition. I almost caused Troy not to win first last year.

Worst: Tied between getting DQed from food science at nats (back when it was a trial) and missing nats by 9 points and an extremely unfair Sounds of Music ruling (our 2 girls, who ALWAYS medal, were complimented by the judges for their excellent performance, and got 27th....When we asked they said they missed a few physics questions, and that the top 30 teams were all within half a point...thats total BS)
Best: The total shock we got when we were called for 2nd place at states this year, qualifying us for Nats (when they called Coumbia 3rd, we're like..."We probably got 11th, 1st is FM and 2nd is spackenkill"...so they called us, and we were just stunned). Winning 3rd in rocks and minerals in nats, and 3rd in remote sensing.
2009 events:
Fossils: 1st @ reg. 3rd @ states (stupid dinosaurs...) 5th @ nats.
Dynamic: 1st @ reg. 19thish @ states, 18th @ nats
Herpetology (NOT the study of herpes): NA
Enviro Chem: 39th @ states =(
Cell Bio: 9th @ reg. 18th @ nats
Remote: 6th @ states 3rd @ Nats
Ecology: 5th @ Nats

Worst--All of the smartest team members being officially kicked off of the team because the coaches think that their classes next year will be too hard. This year, the seniors that were in the same class had to skip nationals, so the coaches were mad. They are taking this anger out on the upcoming seniors. :x

Best--Our eggonaut not completely failing. We had consistently basically scraped bottom at all competitions when it came to eggonaut. But at nationals we were in the top 30!

best--miraculously taking third in envi chem when i barely knew what i was doing

worst--this one is a tie between the time the balsa wood our bridge was made out of contracting just enough the day of the competition to make sure that our bridge was the wrong width (thanks to humidity, or something) and the time the batteries we impounded with our electric vehicle got stolen AT THE COMPETION and we totally failed...
