Atoning for my Sins as a Test Hoarder

Post by WhatScience? » March 4th, 2018, 6:14 pm

I am well known as a hoarder of tests. I understand that some people are greatly against this. To help people practice, I am posting a set of invitationals on this very thread.

I encourage my fellow hoarders to post one or two of their own sets. It makes a minimal difference to us (this accounts for under 1% of my tests ) but it can mean a big deal for those who need it.

Science Olympiad is a competition so I will maintain my advantage and tray and help myself win, but science is universal. Science is a field that should be loved by all.

I want to take this opportunity to thank Balsaman for inspiring me to do this and for inspiring so many others as well.

I hope all teams that are starting out can use these tests to practice and further their love for Science Olympiad, just like I have been able to.

Enjoy!

From,
WhatScience?

EDIT: I am adding a list of people who have contributed to the test publicizing movement to thank them. Everyone, please support this. Minimal effect to you, huge for others!

Hello everyone, the above was just a C test.

That doesn't help a good portion of the community.

So here is a B set.

Enjoy and please continue spreading science.

Arnt there rules on posting certain invitational tests? And wouldn't it be better to post tests on the text exchange?

It takes WAY too long to post tests on the exchange. If somebody wants, they can do that with these. But ain't nobody got time for that.

I’ve really never understood why most invites are always so secretive about their tests. All that happens is teams trade them, meaning that teams who go to more invites have the ability to trade for more tests (which can then be used to get even more, etc.). Why not just make tests public? That’s what we did with our invite at UM (thanks to syo_astro insisting and convincing everyone).

I know some people are concerned that releasing tests makes teams less likely to go to the invite. I disagree. In my competing years, invites were never about the tests and always about the experience. Really, the events are only as good as the coach/parent/(for university invites) undergrads running them.

I want to thank you guys (and all the other invites that have publicly released their tests) for what you guys are doing. Last year, I found myself unable to do that well because I simply had no idea on what to study. This year, I sought out tests to overcome that struggle. You guys are helping many students like me, and for that, you have my gratitude.
