Um, I think Billy Butler? It figures you would ask a question like that if it is.
Because one and a half months isn't enough to figure it out? :P Even when the Mets are healthy, the Phillies are too deep and consistent for the Mets to overtake them in the long run.
that's why the mets crushed the phillies the first night???
and the mets now have a wining record... and i believe they will soon move up a few more places in the division.
the mets are on a 4-game winning streaks whereas the phillies are on a 4-game losing streak
That's just my point, even though there may be losing streaks or winning streaks, in the long run the Phils have too much experience for the Mets to keep up.

Rockies need to at least win their upcomming 3 game series with the Dodgers to move into second place in the NL West behind the San Diego Padres. Well at least I will get to watch the first game of this series from 4 rows up from the field down right field line.

I am actually kinda suprised that I am about to say this but

THE METS SWEEP THE PHILLIES AND SHUT THEM OUT IN ALL THREE GAMES.

And the Phils still lead the division.

the fact is that the Mets swept the phillies.... this is going to be another one of these years where the mets crush the big teams but can't beat the filthy nationals

To be fair, I would be worried as a Phillies fan. To go this long without any offensive output (much less decent scoring) would be very troubling. What else are the Phils built to do? They outscore people and have pitching that can keep the game in reach. This lack of production at the plate is crazy and troubling for any near-term games.

For the Mets, I think it's too soon to be overly excited - they've been streaky all year. However, to thoroughly beat the Yanks and the Phils like this is just plain awesome. Whether or not the Phillies currently hold the lead in the NL East doesn't matter now. With a top two (Pelfry, Santana) pitching like this and Reyes and Bay re-awakening, I like the Mets chances for the next few weeks. Maybe that will give enough time for Wright to heat up. Then the Mets would be rolling. Let's just see how it goes...

both of these coments are very true and if wright can get rolling, the entire team will explode with scores and stops

Yes, it is. Someone give Butler some All-Star Votes! He deserves them!

Well, the season is 162 games long, and if anyone can recover from a dry spell like this, it's the Phillies. They're actually doing fairly well by their early-season standards.

Three in a row for the Royals, I think they are a much better team than they have been.

Wow, we made 20 hits against the Red Sox and hit a grand slam. You don't see that too often.

Red Sox haven't been on their game this year, just look at the standings. I guess their's always next year
