So we got an envelope addressed to my dad saying they wanted him to be a representative of the 8th Congressional district of Maryland or something like that, and we thought it was the 2020 census or jury duty.....
Turned out it was a extremely Republican poll with questions like "Do you believe that the Democrat Party as a whole is promoting a Big-Government Socialist agenda?" and “Do you support President’s Trump’s efforts to secure our national’s southern border by building a wall?”
And the 4 pages of explanation basically boiled down to:
- WE NEED YOUR HELP to win the election
- If the Democrats win they will destroy the country
- We need you to take this poll to show the Democrats the American people support Trump
- also can you give us money plz thx

¯\_(ಠ_ಠ)_/¯

EDIT:
"Do you think that Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat-controlled House are holding President Trump's agenda hostage and putting their political interests ahead of the good of our country?"
"Do you approve or disapprove of the Democrats' agenda to raise taxes, provide free health care and tuition for all, open our borders to all immigrants, enact dangerous abortion policies, pack the Supreme Court, allow inmates to vote, and abolish the Electoral College?"

Lol, I see polls like that all the time on Youtube.
Sad thing is, they do misinform millions out there and rely on (what I consider to be the most disgraceful tactic) factually unsound stawman-ad hominem.
If they gave good arguments relying on emotional appeal to support faulty logic, instead of just recklessly taking aim with false information, then I could somewhat respect that. (although I still disagree with it)
These usually just attack the other party in a one handed and clearly unjust fashion, and misinform those who aren't current with these affairs.

So I signed up for HRC and Donald Trump campaign emails back in 2016, and I still get stuff from Trump from time to time. My favorite is when they ask you to rate his performance, and the options are "Great", "Good", "Okay", "Other."

I don't think much more needs to be said...
