I've been to quite a few countries around the world in the last 3 years (not a flex, it's background info), and when any of them talk about our government, they're making fun of it. I will PM you all the countries if it makes you feel better.
In fairness, the British are currently living in their own greenhouse of governmental incompetence, so ought to be a bit careful throwing stones at the American shambles.

DatSciolyBoi wrote: September 24th, 2019, 8:15 pm People accuse him of being racist and stuff but black unemployment is actually at a all time low.
There is no logical connection between these two statements. Trump is indeed a racist, and a misogynist. The evidence is available every time he opens his mouth or his twitter account.

It is also true that unemployment in black Americans is at a low point since at least the early 70s. This is because overall unemployment is also at a historic low. Black unemployment remains about twice white unemployment, and has done so for he last 30 years. Unemployment has been falling steadily since late 2009 (the start of the Obama presidency after the economic collapse at the end of the Bush years). The transition from Obama to Trump is completely invisible in the unemployment statistics - the curves just keep on following the trends they were on.
Plus, people are starting to feel like the democrats care more about other countries and illegal aliens more than their own citizens. For example, the dems vetoed a bill that would help pay for the tuition of children who's parents were hurt or killed in combat, and then pushed for completely free education for illegal aliens.
I think this must be a reference to the New York state legislature, which is under Democrat control. New York has a program to pay tuition for dependents of those who are hurt or killed in combat. The thing that their legislature voted against was extending this benefit to the children of military members who died or were injured in non-combat situations. It's reasonable to think that they made the wrong choice, but the spin that your talking point puts on it isn't true. I suppose one should also point out that those who voted against the bill said that they don't disagree with the proposal, but voted the bill down because it didn't identify funding. So perhaps there's a little more nuance here than you suggest.

How exactly is Trump a good businessman? He inherited a multi-million dollar fortune from his father and has since lost billions of dollars in his ridiculous business ventures. Let's take a look at an example:

Trump Steaks!!!!! They are the best steaks, and they can only be bought at the SHARPER IMAGE. Who the heck sells their steak at the Sharper Image? "Yes I'd like an air purifier and some of the FINEST BEEF IN THE WORLD!"

Now, go back to 2005, during arguably the worst recent economic slump in the 21st century. wHy Did hE StarT a MortGage cOmpany thEn?? "Trump mortgage, and it's gonna be a great company." (I don't remember what he said exactly, but it was similar to that). Guess what, big surprise here: It wasn't a great company. It went bye-bye in two years. :P

My point is, the fact that Trump is rich does NOT mean he is a good businessman. IMO, probably one of the worst businessmen I've heard of.

Wanna move on to whether he's morally fit to be president? He is absolutely not. Go back to the 1980s/1990s when Trump was eligible to be drafted. He was apparently excused multiple times because his ankle had some kind of bone problem. I don't buy that, and neither should you. Trump steaks would be a better purchase and that's definitely saying something. Considering that he played for a football team, and is rumored to have done quite well at it, health issues should not be a problem. Long story short, he got out of being drafted simply because his family had the money. Looking at more recent events, let me tell you, obstruction of justice is one of MANY issues he has.

As for these "illegal aliens" you are talking about, most are just coming to the US to find better lives, not be criminals or steal jobs or vote in elections. They are willing to take jobs that most other Americans would never want. Working on a farm, cleaning streets - do the people who complain about losing their jobs to immigrants really want to do that? These "aliens" help this economy, not hurt it. Mexicans aren't rapists and criminals like Trump says they are.

And climate change is perhaps the largest problem of all. Global warming isn't some hoax designed by scientists across the world to scare us, it's a threat that will kill us all very very soon. Is Trump saying that "Global warming is a hoax because it's snowing" a good sign? No.

I doubt anybody claiming that Trump is fit to be president can win this argument, cause I still have a lot of ammo left for this debate.
[/quote]

*Cause you asked for a response*

Trump Mortgage, the short lived business, was closed down because the man hired to be manager, E. J. Ridings, lied about many of his credentials to Trump, who hired him. He had poor leadership, and a few of his decisions weren't thought out. In the end, the business closed because it expanded too quickly, and the investment didn't work out.

Steak: Not gonna lie, I'd eat steak anywhere. :D

Illegal immigrants: I have nothing personal against these people. They want a better life, they want to come here, they should do it the right way, just like everyone else. I know it's hard to get in, but that should mean a few changes in the current plan, not just call for a free-for-all dash to the border.

Global Warming: Yeah... About that one... I disagree with him there. I don't think he cares because he won't be around when the planet starts dying

The draft: What he did here was wrong, hands down. But many other politicians like Joe Biden and George W. Bush also found loopholes to avoid the main action in the war. I truly believe that all three of them are in the wrong here.

Business: Your sentence here states it. he inherited a multi-MILLION dollar company. And he has built it up to BILLIONS.

On a different note, if any of you or your parents are registered to vote Democrat, please don't vote for Joe Biden in the primaries. He's got a problematic past that's prime for debate attacks from Trump, and he's not sharp enough anymore to deflect all of them when the time comes. Plus, his policy won't really change the country all that much, and we'll be dealing with a lot of the same issues that the Obama administration didn't address. No matter what you feel about Trump, pretty much any of the other primary candidates is a better option than Biden.

Given that this is definitely just an opinion, I might as well throw a disclaimer in here. ;)

I would disagree with this purely because quite a few of the countries you listed like Sweden, Norway, and Denmark are actually more capitalist than socialist. In fact, too much socialism slowed Sweden's economic growth. That being said, I do believe more socialist policies should be implemented in the US.

You are correct there my good sir but notice the part I highlighted. The socialist concepts that they have paired with capitalism have done wonders for their nations. Bolivia is the closest thing to a true socialism country at the moment that I can think of.

Woah this is like last year's Policy's debate... I'm just going to mainly focus on the illegal alien part because that's kinda what Policy was all about last year lol...

Economic:
Like how many people have stated earlier, there's nothing wrong with illegal aliens. They come to the US to look for a better standard of living, and they contribute more to the US than what they get in return. Like people have said before, the immigrants- mainly the illegal ones- work jobs that others don't want. They work in farms for low wages, they clean the streets for low wages, they work in factories with dangerous conditions, for low wages. Even if all of the Americans chose their jobs first, those jobs will still be left over and then the illegal immigrants will still take them. So, basically, the illegal immigrants aren't harming our economy. They take the jobs that the Americans claim to be too dirty or unsafe or have too low of a salary, but they still pay taxes and don't get anything in return. They usually don't have healthcare, social security, and sometimes they don't even have worker's compensation.

Kinda moving away from the economic aspect:
The population for the working age is decreasing, and reproduction rates are becoming dangerously low. As of now, we don't have enough people to fill in the jobs after our current workers retire. We're counting on the immigrants to boost our population.

Of course, there are some negative consequences to having immigrants, but aren't we constantly pushing to have more diversity in our country and don't we advertise the US as a country that has freedom for all and warm, open arms for all? Since we give the rest of the world this image, we'll have to deal with the consequences.
